Is this brand ok for use as a moisturizer?

Evan Healy Pom Repair Serum High 5

I have been using this serum for about a month now. I used as a moisturizer. I started using it by putting 1 drop in my palm, rubbing them together and then patting my face. I felt I was not getting it on evenly so I started spraying my face/neck with rose water and then a couple of squirts in my palm, then the 1 drop of the serum and then rubbing my hands together and then smoothing on to my face and neck.

My skin tone has totally evened out and my pores have gotten smaller. This is expensive – $30 for a very small bottle but I have not even gone through a quarter of the bottle yet and I have had it for a month.

I had such issues with moisturizers being to oily for my combo skin or not being moisturizing enough if I purchased one for acne prone skin. This is the perfect balance. It soaks in without feeling greasy.

Since my time on antibiotics in the spring/early summer my acne breakouts are gone and between this and the dermalogica medibac face wash I have not had any breakouts. The dermalogica face wash is not cheap either but again, it’s so concentrated the bottles lasts me over 6 months. I am going to check the brand for one that I can use in the winter as this one is drying my face out a bit now the weather is cooler.

Oil Cleansing Method-Questions

I don’t really have any skin problems using regular acne products, except I sometimes get the occasional breakout, but I decided to try the OCM bc I want a more natural skin care regimen. I have normal skin (somewhat dry), except for an oily t-zone in the summer (which changes to dry and flaky in the winter).

I tried it last night, but I don’t think that I will be able to do it more than 3x/week. I don’t really see much of a difference yet, but my skin was a tad bit dry afterward. I also didn’t lose any plugs or anything, but my skin did get little oilier afterward, which I read is supposed to happen. I did 20% castor oil and 80% olive oil, but I am thinking about trying 15% castor oil and 85% oilve oil. But anyways, here are my questions:

1. How do you remove your makeup on the nights you don’t do it?

2. In the morning I always use a natural moisturizer with sunscreen in it (Yes to Carrots moisturizer w/ spf 15), do I just put it on dry, or do I rinse my face with water first, and then apply?

3. How long until I see any kind of improvement as far as plugs coming out, and more radiance?

Thanks!

Pink/red face

I’ve got a mild case (for now ) of rosacea and it makes my whole face go red and hot. I feel like have a permanent embarrassment flush going on.

If I match foundation to my skin I always end up with the pinker shade, in this case Bourjois 10 Hour sleep effect in shade rose clair. If I wore the yellower shade, would the redness in my skin be reduced somewhat?

Also what the heck can I use to help reduce the redness? I’ve got some redness reducing serum from Boots and some metronidazole cream from my GP to help with the sores and itching that I get during a big flare up. Nothing seems to work.

I found this cool sight for finding foundation color. If you know your color in one foundation, you can scroll up or down and find out which color your wear in another foundation.
This is especially helpful for pale skinned people who don’t have as many foundation options. For example, I have pale but neutral to warm toned skin (NC10). Most pale foundations are pink toned. This site lists 5ish drugstore foundations that are potential matches.toothy6 Find your foundation color for any brand. I thought there were 0. icon sad Find your foundation color for any brand. I haven’t tried any of these yet, but at least I now know where to start looking.

Help! I need a foundation for taking photos

My fiance and I are getting our engagement photos taken next weekend and I’m stressing about makeup. I wear very minimal makeup usually but I have lots of discolored, red spots on my face and I want to make sure they don’t show up in our pictures. Can anyone suggest a foundation that will have the right amount of coverage for photos but still look natural? My sister is going to help me with makeup application that day and she said she likes MAC’s liquid mineral foundation. Would that work? TIA!

So…my mom is clueless about make up, as am I.

I need something to brighten my skin up for senior pics.
Like…a powder concealer I guess (I’m not even sure if I’m using the right terminology). Something glow-y.

And also something to make my eyes pop. I was thinking a good eyeliner? I don’t want to overdo it with eyeshadow and stuff.

I have a tan, "wet-sand" skin tone with yellow undertones.

Thanks in advance! love5 Need starter makeup :D

I’ve never really used makeup before. I only want a foundation and a concealer. I have pale skin with (I think) pink undertones, a pink/red flush on my cheeks and nose and dark under-eye circles. I want to hide the redness, dark circles and minimize pores.
It HAS to be all natural or almost all natural. Product recs? I’d prefer a liquid foundation. I’m interested in Jane Iredale Liquid Minerals. Anyone have any experiences with it?
