We can’t stop reading Top 10 or Top 5 or “best” lists for 2010 (and there’s plenty of evidence in today’s report). So let’s kick off the morning with mention of BellaSugar’s “Biggest Beauty Moments” of the year. Sure, we appreciate celebrity fragrances and makeup collaborations. But our favorite is the pixie cut. Please see above. [BellaSugar]

Before smart phones, before Microsoft Outlook, schedulers across the world spent the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day filling out their new datebooks. And apparently, some of us continue to cling to the datebook tradition. If you’re searching for one, InStyle lists its top picks for 2011.

Sure, the rain in Southern California is stressful, but imagine what it’s like in Norway right now. We’re thinking it’s probably quite cold and folks might very well do anything they can to stay warm. But that hasn’t stopped Oslo Fashion Week (Feb. 14-20) from banning fur. Perhaps Norwegians have mastered the art of layering. [The Cut]

If you are craving a makeup fix, we can always point you in the direct of Sephora. What’s new? The “Sephora Collection Palette Color Play” ($30 will buy you eye shadows, blush and two lip colors), which seems to have been inspired by Shopbop’s “Faces of Fashion” lookbook. [WWD, subscription required]

You may be under the impression that All the Rage tilts toward the female reader. And with all this discussion of datebooks and fur and eye shadow, we can see how you might have acquired that impression. But we are here to tell you that we embrace the world of men and their appearance! To that end, we’d like to recount the Wall Street Journal’s top men’s style trends for 2010:  The “Mad Men” effect (think skinny ties), man bags, plaid and tweed, Korean designers and Chinese sneakers. So, gentlemen, there you have it. [WSJ]

Casual But Smart Blouses/Shirts?

Are there any shops selling really nice blouses or shirts at the moment? Looking for something smart but casual, that I could wear to college but also could dress up a little if needs be.

Looking to spend anywhere up to around £35 at the most really.

I usually find I have a problem with them in the bust area, as I’m rather big chested, so if anyone with a similar problem to myself has bought one recently I’d be really interested for your comments. smile Casual But Smart Blouses/Shirts?

I’ve never been a briefs guy, normally wear boxers, but recently tried hipster boxer trunks /boxer briefs, & I’ve decided they are the best of both worlds. So comfy smile Changing underpants

Are Navel Piercings Worth It?

I’ve been considering getting my belly button pierced for a few years now, but can never really make my mind up.

Does anybody have any strong opinions on them either way? I’m just worried they’ll catch on my clothes, or look strange if I’m wearing a clingy top etc… Also if I decide to take it out how well does the hole close up?

Thanks for any advice smile Are Navel Piercings Worth It?

Tall, hourglassy inspiration?

So, a new years resolution of mine is to embrace my shape! I have realised that I am never going to be 5"2" and size 6 because I wasn’t built that way.

I am tall (over 6"0 in heels) and super hourglassy (G-H cup bust and hips and bum to match) and who knows what size (my waist is really only an 8 but I need at least a 10-12 to accommodate my curves and occasionally a 14 depending on the cut)

I buy quite a few clothes from bravissimo.co.uk but I would love some ideas of stores closer to home which tend to be more flattering to this type of body type, as I find it kind of hard to dress because of my proportions.

I am also looking for celebrity inspiration for my body shape. I loooove Christina Hendricks on Mad Men but vintage 60s fashion isn’t always practical so I’d love some other ideas of celebs to look out for that are tall and super curvy.

Ideas, girls?

Christian Louboutin Making Men's Shoes for Fashion Week

Facebook

Watch the womenswear shows during fashion week, and red soles can be seen flashing up and down the runways — but the footwear in the menswear shows is rarely paid a second look.

This season, however, may tell a different story. Young designer Marlon Gobel is planning to collaborate with none other than Christian Louboutin on the footwear for his men’s Fall 2011 collection, to be debuted during New York Fashion Week in February. As to how, exactly, the cobbler favored for his sky-high heels decided to take the plunge into men’s runway shoes: Gobel apparently caught Louboutin’s eye when he put his lone female model in a pair of the designer’s red soles last season. Louboutin was such a fan of the collection as a whole that he offered up his shoes for the next go-around, on the men.

Gobel, naturally, was thrilled, writing on his Facebook page, “Simple, Transformative and Elegant! Now it’s your turn guys to make them see red. Thank you, Mr. Louboutin!”

Here’s one way to annoy your wife.

Comedian Russell Brand posted an unflattering picture today of his wife Katy Perry on his Twitter page that shows the singer without any makeup on.

In the picture, a startled-looking Perry appeared to have been photographed just as she was waking up, London’s The Sun newspaper reported today.

The 26-year-old pop star is never really seen without any makeup.

Perry may have shown her displeasure with Brand, 35, since the picture was removed from his Twitter account.

Brand has 1.7 million Twitter followers, according to his account.

Brand and Perry were married in October in India.

In September, producers of the hit children’s TV show “Sesame Street” canceled an appearance by Perry following feedback from parents.

Perry, who rose to stardom in 2008 with the No. 1 single, “I Kissed A Girl, was set to appear on the premiere of the show’s 41st season.

But after a segment of the show appeared online on Sesame Workshop, which produces the show, decided not to air it.

The segment featured Perry singing a rendition of her 2008 single “Hot N Cold” to the Muppet Elmo. The song, originally about an elusive lover, was rewritten for the clip.

The producers said the show, which has a long history of working with actors, athletes, musicians and artists, has always been written on two levels — for the child and adult.

Report: Olajuwon to launch clothing line

Former Houston Rockets star Hakeem Olajuwon is moving into the world of fashion, launching his own clothing range, myFOXhouston.com reported Thursday.

The Hall of Famer, who led the Rockets to back-to-back championships in the 90s, told how he had always loved designing clothes.

“I think it’s wonderful to be able to launch your own collection,” Olajuwon said. “I think it’s something that anyone that loves fashion, that would be the ideal, and it’s a real joy to be able to launch your own collection and to be able to express yourself through your clothing.”

He explained: “My passion for fashion has been there from the beginning. I’ve designed so many cool, nice clothes for myself that you want to take that public.”

And the 47-year-old is clearly not worried about being successful in a tough market.

“If you’re good, you don’t worry about competition,” he said.

His clothing range will be on display at the Toyota Center when the Rockets play Toronto on Friday.
